5 Most Common Types of Cyber Attack

The tremendous benefits of modern technology are not without high costs – although, as you’ll see in this article, nearly all of these costs can be mitigated. Connecting with the World Wide Web has more benefits than it does risks – especially when it comes to your business. Liabilities mount with increased exposure, and it’s worth investing in products such as eDiscovery services by CBI cybersecurity specialists to ensure your digital information is as secure as possible in the current era. Here we investigate a handful of the most common cyber attacks that businesses – and people – have to deal with.

Why you Need to Start Buying Green Electricity

Most of the electricity in the United Kingdom comes from fossil fuels like coal, gas, and oil. This is a huge contributor to climate change. here are some great green alternatives. Carbon Free Electricity Carbon-free electricity accounts for nearly 40 percent of the total production of electricity in the United Kingdom. This includes nuclear and other renewables. The proportion of renewable resources vs old resources is at a steady growth rate. This is due to the various policies like Renewable Obligation and Contracts for Differences. At present, the United Kingdom wants at least 30 percent of electricity to be derived from renewable resources by the year 2020.

Technology Lets You Outsource Worldwide

In the last few years, technology has seen a massive increase in popularity in terms of business and different industrial functionalities. Most big companies these days are dependent on the technological developments and internet for all their daily functions – ranging from promotion to sales. But one of the essential functions of technology has not been address properly as of it; it is the growing trend of outsourcing with the help of these technological advancements. The popularity of outsourcing has helped in the growth of many small and medium-sized companies. It has been seen that the trend of outsourcing has been evident on the industrial front since a very long time. But as of late, it is becoming increasingly evident that outsourcing can help you achieve torrential success. Technology lets you outsource your resources worldwide, and here are a few reasons why more and more companies are hopping onto the outsourcing wagon.

Dental technologies shaping today’s dental care

Just like marmite, we either love or hate visiting the dentist. But no matter what your opinion of visiting your local dental practice is, there’s no denying that new and innovative dental technologies continue to shape today’s dental care, helping to solve and identify oral issues early on. From finding the best dental implants Turkey has to offer, improving the way patient records are stored and the ease of access, the innovations are endless, so to find out how dental technologies are shaping today’s dental care, continue reading! Digital X-Rays Undergoing an x-ray for an accurate insight into your mouths, health is somewhat nerve-wracking, but we do it for a reason. Not only do digital x-rays expose patients and dental surgeons and nurses to up to 90% less radiation than the more traditional film x-rays, but they are also better for the environment because they don’t require developing. Within seconds of taking the image, they appear on a computer screen for your dentist to examine, identifying possible infections in the bone, cysts, tumours, developmental abnormalities, periodontal disease and small areas of decay between the teeth.

Importance of Renewable Energy and Types of Renewable Energy Resources

Today, most of the world is currently dependent on various fossil fuel sources, such as coal, gas, or oil. These resources are finite in nature, and the process of unearthing and using them is very damaging to the environment as a whole. Renewable energy is energy taken from sources that don’t run out, such as the sun, the wind, and the sea. Though we are still at the beginning of our journey into using renewable energy, we have already made huge strides in harnessing it. We have moved forward in harnessing renewable energy by using feedback actuators, or linear actuators, in our setups. In particular, solar panels have benefitted from this, as they have been able to pick up much more energy than they could before. Linear actuators have made solar panels much more moveable, so they can follow the sun as it moves, to pick up every last bit of sunlight that they can. Solar Panels Solar panels are perhaps the most easily-recognizable form of renewable energy for most people since they are now quite common in people’s houses. Solar panels are designed to pick up and store the sun’s heat and light and use it for various energy…

Running remote host Weka experiments

Previously, we tried to run a weka server to utilize all cores of the processor in classification tasks. But it appears that the weka server works only in explorer for classification routines. For more advanced machine learning, there is a more flexible tool – experimenter. Weka server doesn’t support this area. So what to do if you want more performance or utilize the multi-core processor of the local machine. There is a way out, but it is quite tricky. Weka has the ability to perform remote experiments that allow spreading the load across multiple host machines that have Weka set up. You can read the documentation of remote experiments here, but it may be somewhat confusing. It took time for me to figure out some parts by trial and error. The trickiest part is to set everything up and prepare the necessary command to be run before performing a remote experiment. So let’s get to it.

Utilizing multi-core processor for classification in WEKA

Currently, WEKA is one of the most favorites machine learning tools. Without programming skills, you can do severe classification, clustering, and extensive data analysis. For some time, I’ve been using its standard GUI features without thinking much about performance bottlenecks. But since research are becoming more complex by using ensemble, voting, and other meta-algorithms that generally are based on multiple classifiers running simultaneously, the performance issues start becoming annoying. You need to wait for hours until the task is completed. The problem is that when running classification algorithms from the WEKA GUI, they utilize a single core of your processor. Such algorithms as Multi-layer Perceptron running 10-fold cross-validation is calculating one cross-fold at the time on one core, taking a long time to accomplish: So I started looking for options to make it use all cores of the processor as separate threads for each operation fold. There are a couple of options available to do so. One is to use WekaServer package, and another is remote host processing. This time we will focus on WekaServer solution. The idea is to start a WEKA server as a distributed execution environment. When starting the server, you can indicate how many cores you…

How Modern Technology Has Helped Improve Weather Forecast

On October 17th, 2014, the hurricane named Gonzalo hit the island named Bermuda. It did severe damage by knocking down power lines and many trees and completely destroying access to many, many roads. However, due to early warnings, Bermuda residents could avoid the disaster areas. The warnings were so adequate that not one death or even serious injury was reported. It’s common knowledge that storms can be hard to predict because of many factors. It is nature, so it’s tough to see what all the potential factors would be for a storm because so many different things can develop and so quickly. Still, scientists and weather forecasters are getting much more accurate and efficient at predicting the weather. The weather systems these days are looked at supercomputers. These computers use unique algorithms to predict the weather patterns, and also store new data. Or you can find ways to do this at home yourself in more minor ways, too, by checking out home weather station reviews. The NOAA (Located in the USA) has developed a new storm prediction system. The system is called the NEIS, and it creates 4D models that show the weather worldwide. It works by using many (millions)…

Sloth Is the Progress Booster: What Makes the Technological World Move Ahead?

Some people argue that technology advances for purely lazy reasons. For example, remote starting your car, digital entertainment replacing physical activities, and not having to leave your sofa to change the TV channel. People can even limit how much they have to walk thanks to technology. However, can we relegate the technological advancements to laziness? Below are some reasons why the forward-moving in the technological world may be happening due to more reasons than just being lazy!
