The letterhead, like the logo created with Turbologo, is one of the most important elements of company management. It allows you to create a visually interesting business card, and at the same time, it is necessary to make an impression on customers. No modern company can do without it. This product is ideal as a re-printable material for office printers. It is used, among others, for printing invoices, contracts, and various other documents.
What Is Letterhead, And What Is It Used For?
Letterhead is a sheet of paper on which company data and, for example, its logo are printed in a visible place, usually in the upper right corner. It is used for writing, and preparing important company documents on it (also those that are sent to contractors) as well as customer information.
For this reason, letterhead is a kind of business card, which facilitates contact with the company for external entities and at the same time allows you to stand out from the competition. Printing your letterhead is a great way to show your best side and attract new customers.
How To Make Letterhead?
When creating professional letterheads, be sure to include your most important contact information. Remember to include information such as company name, registered office address, contact phone number, and e-mail address.
When designing your paper, you should also pay attention to factors such as:
- not using an excessive amount of embellishments – a logo or a few colors commonly associated with the brand will suffice;
- legibility of all data;
- the place where the graphic design will be printed.
Some people decide to create a slightly more advanced letterhead design that has a translucent background. In this case, the key to a successful paper is its readability and clarity. It is also worth remembering that if the paper is also to be used for letters with a higher degree of formality or as official blanks, it will be better to stay with minimalism. Documents printed on such paper have to look elegant and as professional as possible.
Make Sure The Print Looks Good
If you want to have a letterhead based on a perfect design, you should not stop at ready-made ones. It is worth devoting some more time and attention to the proper preparation of the graphic design. In this way, we can obtain a professional and extremely attractive look for the letterhead.
The basis of an effective letterhead design is its toned character and readability. When creating a design for letterheads, it is not recommended to use photos. Vector elements are the most popular here. Printing letterheads from a design that uses vectors will always look aesthetically pleasing.
Sometimes a logo is strong, full color, and the company’s contact information is perfect on letterheads. Have your letterhead printed by professional printers who will make sure it is high quality and aesthetically pleasing. Sloppy letterheads attached as an invoice to order, for example, show questionable professionalism on the part of the company. If the letterhead is to be used for internal records by company employees, you can opt for punching.
The Type Of Paper Sets You Apart From The Competition
Choosing the type of paper is also an important aspect of creating letterhead designs. A letterhead printed on offset paper will always make the colors a little paler than the design. What is in full color, however, is slightly more impressive to the recipients and makes the design elements more memorable.
Lines In Writing Paper And Legible Fonts
Depending on the purpose and format of the letterhead, we can use a grid or a line like in a notebook. The thicker the lines in the design, the less color saturation they should have. Then, the printout will gain in aesthetics. If you use thicker lines up to 0.12 mm, then the minimum color saturation should be at the level of 35%. For 0.2 mm thicknesses, it should be a minimum of 20% black. This is important because a thick line with a distinct color will make the letterhead unreadable.
However, remember that the line color saturation should not go below 7%. Then the lines may not be visible after printing.
If we decide on a lower value, we have to remember that the line should not be thinner than 0,05 mm. What is more, the lines should be a solid color (preferably black) with 100% color saturation.
Finally, to make the letterhead look elegant and professional, it is worth taking care of the legibility of fonts. Here everything depends on the whole corporate identity and the choice of the font, but we always remember not to use fonts smaller than 7 points and to choose only universal fonts, which will be easily readable.
Advantages Of Using Letterhead
The presence of branded letterhead in a company gives a much greater sense of credibility and builds a positive brand image. It also makes it much more recognizable. Potential customers are more likely to choose a company that they have met before, if only by the presence of a brand image in their environment. Therefore, when they need to get in touch, they always have their contact details at hand on a document printed on company letterhead.
Ordering the design or printing of such a product is not excessively expensive, and the letterhead itself is a very impressive accessory that certainly facilitates building brand awareness and contact with the company that uses its visual identity.
Order details, important documents, or an invoice on a good type of paper will surely make a positive impression on everyone.
