2 – Screen Resolution
Lowering your screen resolution will speed up your PC. Surprisingly, lowering your resolution will actually speed up your PC because lower resolution makes everything larger. According to those in the know, you would think that it would have the opposite effect, but you will speed up your PC by making it easier to see. Who knew?
3 – Sleep Mode
You can speed up your PC startup by setting it in sleep mode when you aren’t using it. When you wake up your PC, you won’t have to go through the whole startup session again, a simple press of a keyboard button will wake it right up, and your PC will be ready to go.
4 – Speed Up Your Internet

Clean out your temporary internet files daily. Open your internet browser, choose ‘tools’ at the top, and then click on ‘internet options. A box will appear. Look for ‘delete temporary internet files’ and click on it. You will have to wait for the hourglass to disappear to use the internet, and if you don’t clean your temps regularly, this could take a while. So try to remember to do this every day.
5 – Temporary Internet Files
While you are in the internet options, you can speed up your PC internet by going to the temporary internet files tab and ticking the box next to ‘never’ and then increasing the storage space by sliding the little bar to the right little bit. Don’t do more than double the amount of storage space at once, though. This would help to speed up utorrent on Mac.
These steps aren’t foolproof, but they’re the first ones I take when my PC shows signs of slowing down. They are helpful to a great extent.
