Flexible and Stretchable LEDs Promise a Better LED Displays in the Future?

Many industries have using LEDs, due to the low production cost and its durability. Did you know that a LED is able to provide light up to 100,000 hours? This means, it’s hundred times better than the fluorescent lamp! Many scientists have been trying to make the LEDs into a more commercial form. In this case, new flexible and stretchable LEDs have been created through the experiments. Based on the report, the brand new flexible and stretchable LEDs could be applied in everything, such as from bumper mounted brake lights to computer or television screens that roll up into a pen! John Rogers, a scientist at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign described the new inorganic LEDs are very thin, where you can bend it, twist it, roll it or stretch it whatever you want. He said that the inorganic LEDs are much more difficult to build, compare with Organic (Carbon-based) LEDs, as it needing higher temperatures and harder surfaces. However, the inorganic LEDs are tending to have higher performance than the organic LEDs. Generally, the inorganic LEDs are brighter and more efficient than organic LEDs. People are becoming more concern to the global warming matter, as the scientists have been given out warning that when the entire icebergs in Arctic had totally melt down, then the sea level will rise up to 7 meter high permanently!
