Future of Artificial Intelligence; Its Implementations and Limits

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in computer science uses mechanical and computational processes to echo almost all aspects of human intelligence. AI can perform multiple functions: sensory interaction with the environment and the ability to make decisions about events that haven’t happened yet without any human assistance whatsoever. Targeted advertising and virtual agents that recognize your behaviour patterns are many standards in today’s online undertakings.


Artificial Intelligence is used by business enterprises in data analysis algorithms which have the highest advantage of analyzing the Big Data, and it also involves customer engaging techniques. Apart from IBM, which developed some of the earliest functions of AI, Google and Facebook are also using AI for the analytic purpose of the massive amount of data they receive.

Implementations of AI


IBM gained a great success in its earliest endeavours like Deep Blue chess algorithms and the Watson system. These technologies were mastered and then implemented in business. Deep Blue algorithm organized to process a vast amount of predictive analysis based on maximizing efficiency and showed that if rules of chess are stated, then there is no need for a possible manual solution. It just needs to recognize patterns and will make decisions very fast on its own.



Google has been using Artificial Intelligence, specifically for personalization. It recently developed Google translate based on language processing and generation tools and involves neural network strategy to recognize patterns and make decisions very fast.


Facebook contains tons of structured and unstructured data – friend lists, liked pages, joined groups, etc. Facebook uses artificial intelligence to recognize patterns and offer further suggestions for personalized interests. In the longer run, Facebook wants to create an Intelligent Agent who will communicate with humans and provide information simultaneously.

Limits of Artificial Intelligence

Nature is a perfectionist – whatever it creates is perfect. We humans on the other hand endeavour to simulate extremely complex manners and still we are not by any means near to nature – in this regard in our efforts to compete with natural intelligence.

Importance of Communication – Communication Leads to Intelligence

The basic idea of human survival depends primarily on transferring the necessary knowledge from one generation to another. Thus with time, people developed a collective memory. The communication started from simple acts to more complex ones and thus kept on improving. The fundamental question here is that, would artificial intelligence evolve on its own as humans did, and most people think no. Even if the communication is established between different artificially intelligent computers, evolution will remain alien to them.

Reliance on Informatics Procedures and Collected Data

Artificial intelligence is made to recognize human patterns and react accordingly. For this purpose, a lot of psychological and cognitive data was collected, and Artificial Intelligence was based on it. But this idea is fundamentally in contrast with the unlimited imagination of human beings. Are those the only expressions – which were collected – that humans can make? Scientists ignored infinite possibilities of utterances and other context-based expressions which artificial intelligence cannot possibly understand. This can be called the most significant limitation of artificial intelligence.

How Can AI Be Dangerous

Artificial Intelligence’s limitation also involves the threat to humanity – since it is incapable of experiencing any emotions or pain – because it can use any means to achieve the desired end. Experts see two possible scenarios.


AI is programmed to Do Devastating Things

Artificial Intelligence technology is employed in autonomous weapons which can cause devastation. On the other hand, the ongoing race between different superpowers led to making the destructive instruments so difficult – so that enemy doesn’t thwart it – to handle and cause world destruction.

Performing Something Beneficial in a Destructive Manner

Artificial Intelligence can also negatively accomplish something for your good. For example, if you command your autopilot car to take you to the airport in 10 minutes, it can take you there in prescribed time but with the possibility of police helicopters chasing you. Similarly, if artificial intelligence is tasked with geoengineering, it can play havoc with our ecosystem and human attempts to stop, it can also be seen as a threat.
